WPM invented the TruCut® molded cutting die process, which provides a precise steel-to-steel die cut for converting applications, virtually eliminating the need for tooled steel cylinders. WPM TruCut® Rotary Converting Cutting Dies are manufactured to exacting specifications and can include die cutting, perforating and scoring all in the same steel rule die.
A key advantage of the WPM TruCut® Rotary Converting Cutting Die system is its rigid base as the converting die rule is molded into a hardened shell, yet is still seated steel-to-steel against the WPM Honeycomb rotary die cylinder. This provides converters a distinct advantage of a medium to long life expectancy of the rotary cutting die while allowing for changeable plates or patterns at a relatively low capital investment.
Furthermore, the WPM TruCut® Rotary Steel Rule Converting Die uses the "through-cut" or anvil "kiss-cut" methodology rather than rotary pressure pinch cutting methods. Therefore, only one WPM TruCut® Rotary Steel Rule Converting Die is required rather than one male and one female steel rule die.
