The patented WPM TruCut™ Converting Die offers substantial advantages to users in comparison to competitive die tooling. WPM manufacturers curved steel rule die segments which are designed for fast mounting on WPM Rotary Die Cutting, Creasing, Scoring and Embossing modules equipped with the exclusive WPM Honeycomb Die Cylinders. Together, this "systems" approach provides a unique flexibility advantage to change patterns or shapes at a very minimal cost.
WPM invented the TruCut™ molded process, which provides a precise steel-to-steel die cut for many converting applications, virtually eliminating the need for tooled cylinders. WPM TruCut™ Converting Dies are manufactured to exacting specifications and can include die cutting, perforating and scoring all in the same die.
A key advantage of the WPM TruCut™ Converting Die system is its rigid base as the die rule is molded into a hardened shell, yet is still seated steel-to-steel against the WPM Honeycomb die cylinder. This provides converters a distinct advantage of a medium to long life expectancy while allowing for changeable plates or patterns at a relatively low capital investment.
Furthermore, the WPM TruCut™ Converting Die uses the "through-cut" or anvil "kiss-cut" methodology rather than rotary pressure pinch cutting methods. Therefore, only one WPM TruCut™ Converting Die is required rather than one male and one female die.
The WPM TruCut™ Converting Die is just one of the products developed for the converting industries by the Cutting Technology Division at WPM, and is available exclusively for all WPM Rotary Cutting Systems.
