Presently, converters have the option of using Solid Steel Cylinder Tooling, Magnetic Plate Tooling, or WPM TruCut® Precision Tooling. Each style has a unique set of characteristics that make it the right die tooling choice for a particular production process. Solid Steel Cylinder Tools are associated with high investment cost. Magnetic Plate Tooling has a relatively short life expectancy but compensates with a lower cost for the plate. WPM TruCut® Precision Tooling accentuates the best attributes by having medium to long life expectancy, changeable plates, and a relatively low capital investment and puts them into one package.
